Born on O'ahu and raised in a quiet valley in Honolulu, I had a childhood like most: plenty of video games, delivering newspapers every afternoon, playing in the stream behind our house. The summer before I turned twelve, I picked up a video camera for the first time. I spent that entire summer shooting footage of my family, much to their exasperation since they were often unwilling subjects. Shooting those simple, honest home movies was the inspiration that would lead me to becoming a videographer.
I earned a bachelor's degree in English at the University of Hawai'i before becoming a digital media specialist for UH's Shidler College of Business. There, I developed my skills as a corporate videographer and photographer, and helped build the college's digital media production capabilities.
When I'm not shooting or editing, I enjoy cooking (for my wife), watching oddball Japanese game shows, listening to hi-fidelity audio equipment, and karaoke.
